Telling the story of Moto GP

Phillip Island, Australia

If you are a MOTO GP fan, in particular a fan of Valentino Rossi, then no introduction is necessary.

For those of you who aren’t, this is Gigi Soldano, an Italian sports photographer.

Whether you know it or not, you’ll no doubt have seen his spectacular motorsport images in the media.

His action shots are amazing, although what is most impressive is how he tells the riders’ stories. The way that he can capture and communicate the action, the drama and the emotions of a race, on and off the track, are truly unique.

Whilst at Phillip Island for the sixteenth stage of the MOTO GP 2015, I was lucky enough to meet Gigi on the day of his birthday. At 67, he is a true legend and I could not miss the opportunity to have a chat and take his portrait!
