Smart Portraits – A smartphone photography workshop, 20 July 2019

25 . Jun . 2019

Presented by Ronnie Grammatica, the artist behind #facesofthehastings, as part of the Art Walk 2019.

A workshop designed for anyone seeking to better understand how to use their smartphone camera to capture great portrait pictures in everyday situations.

WORKSHOP SUMMARY

Ronnie will show that expensive and complicated equipment and programs are not essential for capturing and creating unique and powerful images. Everything you need is at hand in a smartphone.

Coupled with a basic understanding of the key photography rules, this workshop will teach participants how to use a smartphone as part of everyday life to create impressive portraits that will stand the test of time.

The power of a great portrait picture should not be underestimated, whether it be to capture treasured family memories, to visually tell a story on social media, or for an artistic project.

The workshop will be dedicated to covering the basics of the smartphone camera and key photography rules, with a view to demonstrating how these can be manipulated to achieve various effects.

Participants will be given the opportunity to practise what they have learned, with time dedicated to taking photographs.
