Ronnie Grammatica takes major prize in the 2017 Pix from the Stix competition

10 . Jul . 2017

I’m excited to be awarded the major prize in this year’s Pix from the Stix photography competition as well as winner in the portrait category.

My portrait of Samuele, forms part of a series inspired by a white marble portrait statue of Roman Empire dictator Julius Caesar.

The portraits are of “i vechietti”, a group of elderly gentlemen with Italian heritage who live on the Mid North Coast.

I was honoured to be announced as the major acquisitive prize winner and it was a pleasure to meet Gloucester Gallery director Rachel Saunders and to accept my prize from Gloucester Gallery committee member Adele Compton.

The Pix from the Stix exhibition will run until Sunday, July 16 2017.
